- Reasons for the Choice of our Faculty
Hamidiye Faculty of Nursing has achieved significant success with the studies in a very short time both nationally and internationally. The goal of Hamidiye Faculty of Nursing is individuals, family and society who are sensitive to any development and change that may affect the health of the individual, who can determine the health needs of the individual with a holistic approach. The aim of the education is to train professional nurses who are sensitive to all kinds of developments and changes that may affect the health of the individual, family and society, who can determine the health needs of the individual with a holistic approach, who can implement and evaluate nursing care by planning, nursing education, to train professional nurses who can take part as a member of the medical team in accordance with professional ethical principles in management and research.
Academic staff are specialized in different fields of nursing with international experience and have targeted high standards and quality in undergraduate, master's and doctoral education.
Hamidiye Faculty of Nursing claim to be one of the best examples in Turkey with both laboratory infrastructure and advanced high-tech simulation tools. We offer the necessary expertise and infrastructure opportunities to our students to improve their innovative practices and health informatics skills starting with the first years of nursing education.

- Preparatory Class
The students in the International Nursing Program (30% English), which is accepted by the International Student Examination of University of Health Sciences, receive preparatory education according to their foreign language proficiency. Foreign language proficiency of the students applying to the International Nursing Program is determined by the SBU Foreign Languages Department Foreign Language Proficiency Exam, which is applied by the SBU Foreign Languages Department at the beginning of the academic year. Students who apply the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam 65 out of 100 for English are exempt from the preparatory class. Students who receive less than this score are asked to study English preparation. Normal education and training period in the foreign language preparatory class is one academic year; the maximum duration of education and training is two academic years.
- Laboratory and Simulation Opportunities
As the Hamidiye Faculty of Nursing of the University of Health Sciences-Turkey we can say that we are one of the best examples in Turkey with both laboratory infrastructure and advanced technology simulation tools. Designed as a real hospital environment, our laboratory has two patient units for internal and surgical adult cases and birth and paediatric applications.
Our students are able to experience all the clinical situations they receive in their theoretical education and in their professional practice in the closest way to the reality in this simulation laboratory, which is designed as a real hospital environment. As it evaluates the health status of a real person, it can obtain vital signs such as blood pressure, respiratory, pulse, and learn normal and pathological conditions. They can also monitor the effects of a drug application and gain experience in managing emergencies. Electrocardiography, intubation, wound care, colostomy treatment, oxygen therapy and aspiration can be listed as several applications that can be sampled.
Our students apply invasive applications repeatedly in computer-based skill simulators with digital, virtual, and haptic features, minimizing the margin of error making. For example, they can intervene in a patient with postoperative bleeding or experience situations that are unlikely to encounter during training in clinics.
There are separate units where we can manage, record, and monitor clinical scenarios. After the simulation practise, students and instructors can come together to re-monitor the application, evaluate, and discuss the case. Thus, our students are more ready for clinical practice and are confident.
- Internship Opportunities
Our goal in education; to ensure that students are trained to take responsibility in all application areas of the profession by gaining the necessary knowledge and skills for the basic areas of nursing. In order to support the professional development of nursing students, our practices include the Ministry of Health Hospitals that are affiliated with the university, the public or private sector health institutions and organizations deemed appropriate by the Rector’s Office and Faculty Dean’s Office, Provincial and District Health Directorates, Public Health Directorates, General Secretariats, maternal health centres, family planning centres, family health centres, community health centres, community mental health centres, rehabilitation centres, social service institutions, municipal institutions, public education centres, educational institutions affiliated to the Provincial and District National Education Directorates and other public and private institutions and workplaces in accordance with the content of the course in designated homes or neighbourhoods. Besides the lecturers, guidance nurses are assigned who have at least a master's degree in nursing, provide support for education and have a guiding role. An orientation program for guide nurses and students is organized by the relevant department before the training period.
- Job Field and Opportunities of Graduates
Students who complete the faculty curriculum receive the title of “Nurse” and can work as a clinical nurse, administrative nurse, and education nurse in public or private sector institutions and organizations providing primary, secondary, and tertiary health services. Nurses who have successfully completed their undergraduate education can study in postgraduate programs related to their fields. Nurses who have completed their master’s education with and without thesis can take the position of “expert nurse” when they want to work in the field, and when they want to work in the field of nursing education and research, they can work as academicians and have the opportunity to specialize and career.
- Scholarship Opportunities
The Health Sciences Haydarpaşa Education and Solidarity Association (SAHADER) grants scholarships to the YKS success ranking, which is placed in the Health Sciences University and based on the score it is placed. The Guidance, Counselling and Scholarship Committee of our faculty carries out its studies in order to provide scholarship opportunities to students in need.
